When you train to be a Certified Nursing Assistant, we will help you become prepared to handle nursing care responsibilities such as:
- Patient Assistance: personal hygiene, feeding, bathing, walking, etc.
- Pre-treatment services: prior to surgery, exam, or therapy sessions
- Care services: monitoring of vital signs
- Emotional Support: Dealing with your patient’s needs and the role of their family members in the full employment of the care plan
Classes/Programs Offered
Nurse Aide I (C.N.A.I)
Subject/Units: The Nurse Aide I Training Program is a one hundred and twelve (112) hour approved course that provides the core knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care to residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospital patients. Students will be taught the proper way to move residents/patients and the basics of personal care, feeding, and bathing.
Type of Skills: A total of 49 approved Nurse Aide Skills, for example,
Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure), bed-making,bed-bathing, and other skills required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing, as well as proper emergency protocol.
Clock Hours: Total of 112 hours, which includes:
Class hours _ 32 hrs.
Lab _ 50hrs.
Clinical _ 30hrs.
Teaching Ratio is: 1 Instructor to 10 students (1:10)
